Ingredients

  • a variety of ripe heirloom tomatoes, cored and cut into 1/2 ” slices
  • a few cherry or grape tomatoes, halved, for garnishing
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mozzarella, cut into 1/4″ inch rounds
  • handful of fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 small red onion, sliced thinly
  • 1/4 cup balsamic syrup
  • 1/4 cup favorite extra virgin olive oil
  • cracked black pepper
  • sea salt
  • a variety of ripe heirloom tomatoes, cored and cut into 1/2″ slices
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced
  • 4-6 slices sharp white cheddar (you may crumble or shred the cheese)
  • buttermilk dressing (recipe below)
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 heaping tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
