Ingredients

• 4 Teaspoons gelatin
• 2/3 Cup milk
• 2 1/2 Cups heavy cream
• 2 vanilla beans
• 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
• 16 whole peeled garlic cloves
• 4 jalapeno chilies, quartered
• 1 1/2 Cup vegetable oil
• 1 C. white sugar
• 1 C. all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 Cup yellow stone ground grits
• 1 Cup grated white Cheddar cheese
• 3 green onions, finely chopped
• 6 leeks, with top quarter removed, split in half, washed and cut into 1” pieces
• 2 large onions, cut into quarters
• 8 medium apples, cut into chunks
• 1 stewing chicken
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon pepper
