Ingredients: 100 g chopped glace cherries; 100 g candied peel; 350 g sultanas; 350 g raisins; 350 g currants; 80 ml whiskey, brandy or rum; 225 g light brown sugar; 225 g butter (diced and softened ); 6 medium eggs ( beaten ); 275 g plain flour; 75 g ground almonds; 1 teaspoon ground mixed spice; 1 whole lemon zest ((zest only)); 1 whole orange zest ((zest only)); 1 whole bramley apple – ( peeled and grated); 1/4 bottle of your favourite topple ((or less if preffered) )
