Farmers Rice (Arroz de Lavrador) – Traditional Portuguese Rice

Ingredients

• 350g (1 and 1/2 cups) of rice
• 1 medium-sized Savoy cabbage, chopped
• 1 chopped onion
• 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
• 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
• 2 bay leaves
• 1 dl (100 ml) of olive oil
• 1 chouriço, sliced
• Salt to taste
• Pepper to taste
• 1 liter of water
