recipe for Indian Potato and Turnip Curry with Green Cabbage

Ingredients

• 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
• 2 turnips, peeled and diced
• 1/2 head of green cabbage, shredded
• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
• 1 tsp cumin seeds
• 1 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp garam masala
• 2 tbsp vegetable oil
• Salt to taste
• 2 cups water
• Optional: 1 green chili, slit lengthwise
• Optional: Fresh cilantro for garnish
