• ¾ cup (1½ sticks) unsalted butter
• ½ cup (4 ounces) almond paste
• 1¼ cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 6 eggs
• 1½ cups cake flour (or 1½ cups less 3 tablespoons of sifted all-purpose flour)
• ¾ cup coarse cornmeal
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 cup heavy cream
