This "seven layer" matzah torte is soaked in wine, and filled with sugar, nuts, and apples. This dish really gets into the Passover spirit!
Ingredients
- 7 boards Yehuda Matzo
- 1 and 1/2 cups Baron Herzog Cabernet Sauvignon or other red wine
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup walnuts, ground
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 to 4 apples, finely grated
- juice of 1 lemon
