Prawns ‘Saganaki’ - GDLT
Savor golden-prawns 'Saganaki' with ouzo-flare, herbs, and feta cheese. A Greek main course delight!
Ingredients
- 16 medium sized prawns (Wellgoods) without the shell and with heads still intact
- 1 small coffee cup olive oil
- ½ onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic finely chopped
- 2 ripe tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 4 tablespoons ouzo
- 4 tablespoons dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon dry oregano
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- Add the oil to the pan and sauté the prawns until golden
- Add the onion and garlic to this and allow them to soften and brown
- Pour in the ouzo (this will fl are up) and wine (this will reduce the flames)
- Add the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, herbs, salt and pepper
- Place the prawns in equal portions in clay pots, add the crumpled feta cheese evenly on top of each pot and cook in preheated oven at 180°C for 6-8 minutes
- Serve with salad of your choosing
