Steak and Blackberry Salad — Jewish Food Society

Ingredients
- 2 cups coarsely chopped parsley (1 bunch)
- 1½ cups coarsely chopped mint (leaves from approximately 12 large sprigs)
- 8 scallions, white and light green parts only, thinly sliced
- 1 medium red onion, finely diced
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 thick slices of high-quality sourdough bread (about 1-inch thick)
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed and peeled
- Fine sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 aged boneless New York strip steaks, about 1-inch thick (1 pound total)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 1½ cup chilled fresh blackberries (or raspberries)
