Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/8 tsp. salt
• 1 tbsp. sugar
• 1/2 cup cornmeal*
• 1/2 cup butter, cut into small pieces
• 1/2 cup chilled buttermilk
• 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
• 2 tbsp. lard
• 1 3/4 cup sugar
• 3 whole eggs and 2 yolks, beaten together
• 1/4 cup buttermilk
• 1/4 cup Cheerwine vinegar
• 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter
