• 1 head red cabbage, julienned
• 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced into small brunoise
• 1 cup diced apples, preferably Granny Smith
• 1 cup red cooking wine
• 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
• 1 cup sugar
• 1-2 cloves
• 1 bay leaf
• Salt and black pepper to taste
• 1/4 cup cornstarch
• 1/2 cup water
