Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch
• 3 tablespoons (45 ml) water
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
• 3 tablespoons (45 ml) balsamic vinegar
• 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar
• 4 cups (1 litre) homemade chicken broth
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) 15% cream
• 3/4 cup (180 ml) sliced almonds, toasted
• Salt and pepper
