Ingredients
- 3 cups walnuts, almonds, pistacios, any nut of your choice. I actually like roasted almonds best and the good thing is you can buy them already dry roasted.
- 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon powder, depending how much you like the taste of cinnamon.
- 1-2 tablespoons honey, depending how sweet you want them
- A dash or two of water, just enough to get the mix to bind together
- approx 3 sheets of thick style fillo pastry
- Butter or oil for brushing the pastry sheets, I used sunflower. Best to use an oil that doesn’t have a strong flavour.
- 1 cup of honey or maple syrup
- a squeeze or two of lemon juice
- A dash of water to thin the honey down. You won’t need water if you are using maple syrup
