Ingredients

• 3 habanero peppers, seeded and halved
• 1 shallot, cut into pieces
• 3 green onions, cut into pieces
• 4 garlic cloves, halved
• 3 tbsp brown sugar
• 3 tbsp (45 ml) cider vinegar
• 3 tbsp (45 ml) soy sauce
• 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
• 1 piece ginger, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick, coarsely chopped
• 1 tbsp ground allspice
• 1 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• ½ tsp salt
• 12 skinless chicken drumsticks
• 4 cups (1 litre) chicken broth
