Ingredients

• 4 layers (9-in sponge, white, or yellow cake - split after baking)
• 1 small pkg. vanilla mix (not instant)
• 1 1/2 cup milk
• 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
• 2 cups heavy cream (too much, try 1 1/2 cups)
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1/2 cup dark rum
• 1 cup strawberry jam or preserves (raspberry is good, too)
