Rahul’s Spiced Firework Biscuits recipe - The Great British Bake Off
Sure to be met with plenty of ooohs and aaahs, these fragrant, spiced biscuits, decorated to look like fireworks, are the perfect treat for a bonfire night party.
Ingredients
- 50g salted butter
- 100g unsalted butter
- 100g caster sugar
- finely grated zest of 2 unwaxed lemons
- finely grated zest of 1 unwaxed orange
- 1 egg
- 1½ tsp ground cardamom
- 250g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
- ¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 3 egg whites
- 650g icing sugar, sifted
- black, red and yellow food-colouring gel
- edible gold paint
