Ingredients

• 1 (0.25oz) package (7g) or 2 1/4 teaspoons Red Star Active Dry Yeast
• 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon table salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 cup water (120-130°F)
• 2 tablespoon shortening or butter, softened
• 1 large egg
• 1 cup apples (peeled, chopped or shredded)
• 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 cup butter (softened)
