Danish Fish Soup

Ingredients

• 1 pound fish fillets
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons aquavit*
• Chives
• 4 onions, peeled
• 1 leek
• 2 carrots
• 4 to 5 medium potatoes
• 3 slices bacon
• 4 cups beef broth or meat stock
• Pinch of saffron
• 1/2 teaspoon basil
• 1 bay leaf
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Parsley for garnish
