• 2 McIntosh apples, peeled, seeded and diced
• 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
• 1/2 recipe Basic Shortcrust Pastry, rolled-out into an 11-inch (28 cm) circle
• 1/4 cup (60 g) brown sugar
• 1/4 cup (35 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
• 1/4 cup (25 g) quick-cooking rolled oats
• 1/4 cup (28 g) ground almonds
• 1/4 cup (57 g) unsalted butter, melted
