• 2 cups strawberries, hulled and quartered
• 1 vanilla bean, split (or substitute 1 teaspoon vanilla extract)
• ½ cup sugar
• ½ cup water
• 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed plus 3 tablespoons warm water
• 1 cup buckwheat flour
• 1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 1 ¼ cups non-dairy milk
• 2 tablespoons grape seed or canola oil
