- 170g (6 oz) plain flour
- 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
- pinch of salt
- 85 g (3 oz) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 225 g (8 oz) light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 50 g (1 ¾ oz) Dutch cocoa powder
- 110 g (3 ¾ oz) sour cream
- 1 tablespoon of instant coffee dissolved in 130 ml (4 ½ fl oz) hot water
