Plum Pudding And Sauce

Ingredients

• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
• 1/2 tsp cloves, ground
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tbsp orange rind, grated
• 1/2 cup regular flour, sifted
• 3/4 cup fine, dry bread crumbs
• 1/2 cup butter or margarine
• 3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
• 1 cup pitted dates, cut up
• 1 cup seedless raisins
• 1 cup mixed candied fruits, chopped
• 1 cup pecans, chopped
• 1/2 cup currants
• 1 can (1 lbs) purple plums, drained, pitted and chopped
• 3 eggs
• 1 ½ cups icing sugar, sifted
• Brandy or Rum, to taste
