Ingredients

• 4 veal cutlets (about 3oz each) or 3/4 pound veal round steak about 1/2 inch thick.
• 4 thin slices smoked sliced ham
• 4 thin slices Swiss cheese
• 2 Tablespoons flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon groun allspice
• 1 egg, slightly beaten
• 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
• 3 Tablespoons shortening
• 2 Tablespoons water
