Ingredients

• 2 large ripe but firm pears, peeled, cored and quartered
• 1 cup all purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
• 1 cup plus 1 Teaspoon white sugar
• 1 egg, room temperature
• 1 tbsp Cook's Choice Pure Vanilla Extract
• 1/2 tsp Cook's Pure Almond Extract
• 3/4 cup sliced almonds, lightly toasted
