Smoked Char Siu Pork Belly Recipe :: The Meatwave
Despite a few missteps in an attempt to crisp the skin on the grill, this pork belly's flavorful char siu sauce marinade and awesome fatty meat still made it a champion
Ingredients
- For the Char Siu
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
- For the Marinade
- 1/2 cup char siu sauce
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4lbs pork belly, skin on
- 4-6 chunks apple wood
