• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• 3 pounds potatoes
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 large yellow onions
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 large yellow onion
• Garnish: parsley
• 1 soda bread
• 1/2 pound bacon
• 1/2 cup dry white wine
• 4 cups carrots
