Ingredients

• 3 medium apples, cored and chopped small (try Fuji or Gala varieties)
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 65 g white sugar
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
• 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water
• 200 g cream cheese, room temperature
• 50 g white sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 10–12 store-bought pie crusts or your own dough (flatten into 4–5 inch rounds)
• Vegetable oil for deep frying
• 120 g confectioners' sugar
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
