Ingredients

• For the Cake:
• 1 cup whole milk, room temperature
• 6 large egg whites, room temperature
• 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
• 2 ¼ cups cake flour
• 1 ¾ cups sugar
• 1 Tbl baking powder
• 1 tsp Baker's Salt
• 12 tbl unsalted butter, cut into 12 pieces and softened
• For the icing:
• 2 cups sugar
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp Maldon Salt
