• 1 pound broccoli, stems and florets separated
• Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 1½ cups packed baby spinach
• 2 medium garlic cloves
• 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter cut into 4 pieces
• 1 tablespoon capers or green olives
• ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
• 2 tablespoons finely grated lemon zest
• 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
• 1 ounces Pecorino Romano or Parmesan finely grated plus more to serve
