• - 4 cups shredded sweet unpeeled apples (red delicious is best)
• - 1/2 cup chopped black walnuts

• - 1 stick salted butter
• - 1 cup dark brown sugar
• - 1 tsp vanilla
• - 1/4 cup evaporated milk
• - 1/4 cup black walnuts chopped fine (optional)
