Fresh Brioche Loaf
This egg and butter enriched dough is a firm favourite. I like to serve it at breakfast with a bowl of cold milk or a hot coffee to dip it into, or at dinner, toasted and served with smooth chicken...
Ingredients
- 2.5 tsp dried yeast
- 2 tbsp water
- 375 strong flour
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 5 room temperature eggs, beaten
- 15g unsalted butter melted
- 175g unsalted butter softened
- Egg wash made with a whole egg beaten with a little milk
