Free-form cherry hazelnut tarts
The older kids will enjoy helping to prepare this simple nut and cherry tart ... hopefully as much as they will enjoy eating it!
Ingredients
- 2 sheets frozen shortcut pastry, thawed
- 60 gram butter, at room temperature
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, plus extra to sprinkle
- 1 egg
- 1 cup hazelnut meal
- 2 tablespoon plain flour
- 425 gram can cherries, drained or 1 cup frozen cherries
- custard, to serve
