• 0.5 cup maple syrup
• 0.25 cup granulated sugar, plus additional for sprinkling over the pie
• 0.33 cup cornstarch
• 1 lemon, zested
• 1.5 tbsp fresh lemon juice
• 0.5 tsp salt
• 1 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
• 1 egg, beaten
