Italian round steak — cookaz

Ingredients

• 1 round steak
• 1–2 clove garlic (finely chopped)
• Olive oil to coat the steak
• 1 carrot, shredded
• 1 zucchini, thinly sliced
• 1/4 cup parsley (chopped)
• 1 hard boiled egg, sliced
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
• 1–2 tbsp peanut or other vegetable oil for browning the steak
• For the tomato sauce
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1 garlic clove, finely sliced
• 1 large ripe tomato, pureed (use a food processor or grater)
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 sprig fresh thyme (substitute with a pinch of dried thyme)
• 1 sprig fresh oregano (substitute with a pinch of dried oregano)
