Pre-heat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line oven trays with baking paper. Place butter, sugar and golden syrup in the bowl of an electric mixer.

- 1/2 cup golden syrup
- 1 extra large egg yolk
- 2 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1 tsp McKenzie's Bi-Carb Soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp McKenzie's Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 3/4 cup icing sugar, sifted
- 1/2 egg white
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
