My Go-To Bistec Ranchero

Ingredients

• 1.5 lbs flank steak or sirloin, trimmed
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 teaspoons ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 medium onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 4 medium tomatoes, chopped or one 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes
• 1-2 jalapeños, seeded and minced
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish
