Ingredients

• Bourbon
• Creme De Cacao Liqueur
• For the cake:
• ¾ cup sugar
• ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
• 1 (7 oz) package almond paste, broken into pieces
• 3 large eggs
• ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• ¼ tsp almond extract
• ¼ tsp vanilla extract
• ¼ tsp salt
• ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
• ½ tsp baking powder
• For the sauce:
• 2 oz bourbon
• 2 oz crème de cacao (or other chocolate liqueur)
• 2 oz heavy cream
• For garnish:
• Dark chocolate bar, for shavings
