Scones Windsor Court Hotel

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 5 tsp. double acting baking powder
• 4 tsp. + 1 tbsp. sugar
• 1/8 tsp. salt
• 6 tbsp. cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
• 3/4 cup heavy cream
• 2 large eggs, beaten slightly
• 1/3 cup dried currants(optional)
• an egg wash made by beating 1 egg with 1/3 cup milk
