Strawberry sponge - Recipe | Folláin
Our classic Victorian sponge recipe is the best way to enjoy fresh strawberries and our Traditional Strawberry Jam.
Ingredients
- - 200g (1 cup) of unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
- 200g (1 cup) of caster sugar
- - 4 large of eggs
- 200g (1 2/3 cups) of self-rising flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- Punnet of of Sliced fresh strawberries (and some blueberries too for good measure!)
- Dollop of Fresh cream
- 1/2 Jar of Folláin’s Traditional Strawberry Jam
- 1 tbsp of Icing sugar for dusting
