Ingredients

• 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
• 1 cup (8 ounces) chilled unsalted butter, quartered lengthwise and cut into pieces
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1 tablespoon milk
• 2 cups sugar
• 4 ounces (1 stick) butter
• 6 large eggs
• 1 tablespoon cornmeal
• 1 tablespoon ground almonds
• Juice and zest of 2 Meyer or regular lemons
