- 12 slices of panettone – medium cut
- 100g unsalted butter
- 8 egg yolks
- 175g castor sugar, plus some sugar for dusting
- A few drops of vanilla essence
- 300ml full-fat milk
- 300ml double cream
- 50g mixed dried fruit
- To serve (optional):
- Pot of clotted cream
- Sprinkle of nutmeg
