Toffee Apple Hand Pies Recipe | King Arthur Baking

Ingredients

• pastry for 1 double pie crust, unbaked
• 1 1/4 cups (about 141g) peeled and diced fresh apple, in 1/2" pieces (about 1 1/2 medium apples)
• 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1/4 cup (53g) light brown sugar or dark brown sugar, packed
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• pinch of table salt
• 2 teaspoons King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
• 1/3 cup (57g) butterscotch chips
• 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon cold water
• coarse sparkling sugar, for extra crunch and decoration
