• 8 slices prosciutto, divided
• 1 (16-ounce) box spaghetti
• 4 tablespoons olive oil
• 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
• 8 fresh figs, chopped
• 1/3 cup parsley, chopped
• 1/3 cup pine nuts, optional, lightly toasted, for topping
• Pecorino Romano cheese, to taste, grated, for topping
