Fall Spiced Plum Cake - South African Plums

Ingredients

• 1 cup (250 ml) self-rising flour
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) ground almonds
• A pinch of salt
• 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) ground cardamom
• 7 oz (200 g) butter at room temperature
• 1 1/4 cups (250 ml) sugar
• 2 extra-large eggs
• 6-8 plums, sliced
• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) orange or apple juice
• Extra 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar for sprinkling over the plums
• 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground cinnamon
