- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup butter
- ¼ cup whipping cream
- ¾ cup finely chopped pecans
- 2¼ cup cake flour (yes, you must use cake flour in this recipe)
- 2 cups sugar
- ¾ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup shortening of choice
- 1 cup water
- 1¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
- Pecan halvesWhipped Cream Topping:
- 1 cup whipping cream,
- 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
