- 4 tablespoons (4 x 15 ml spoon) orange jelly marmalade or crab-apple jelly
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml spoon) salt
- 3 medium-size oranges
- 4 oz (100 g) ground almonds
- 2 oz (50 g) self-raising flour, sifted
- 7 oz (200 g) caster sugar
- 3 large eggs (size 1–2)
- 2 teaspoons (2 x 5 ml spoon) water
- 6 oz (175 g) soft butter, plus extra for greasing
