• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, plus more, to taste
• 1 large yellow onion, chopped
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
• 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
• 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
• 4 poblano chiles, seeded and sliced in half lengthwise
• 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and sliced in half lengthwise
• 1 1/2 pounds fresh tomatillos, husks removed, sliced in half
• 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, coarsely chopped
