Maple Cake Baked in a Can

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup (125 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
• 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter, softened
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) ground almonds
• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) canola oil
• 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup (125 ml) maple syrup
• 1 can 19 oz (540 ml) maple syrup, emptied and cleaned
