Gordie Howe's Canadian Bacon Pot Roast

Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons butter
• 2 tablespoons corn oil
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons dry mustard
• 1/2 tablespoons cayenne
• 1/4 tablespoons ground cumin
• 2 tablespoons maple syrup
• Small pinch ground cloves
• 1/4 cup pear vinegar
• 1 cup hot water
• 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
• 1 4-lb. piece Canadian bacon
